Abstract

Ectopic pregnancy is a medical emergency that still has a huge debilitating effect on maternal health. This condition can result in hemorrhagic shock with resultant morbidity and mortality when it is mis-diagnosed or there is delay in diagnosis and management. We present a 40year old multiparous lady with multiple uterine fibroids and without other identifiable risk factors for ectopic pregnancy who suddenly lapsed into shock and had a successful appropriate and timely intervention-Salpingectomy for ruptured ectopic pregnancy.
